Certificate in Investigative Techniques
The Certificate in Investigative Techniques introduces the fundamentals of legal investigation to those interested in pursuing a new career and those presently working in law enforcement. Students will prepare to assist attorneys, paralegals, insurance companies, and private businesses, as well as state and federal government agencies in the process of civil and criminal investigation. Subject areas include arson investigation, product liability investigation, personal injury and traffic accident investigation, employment accidents, and the role of the investigator in preparing for civil and criminal litigation. This program is available to criminal justice majors, qualified non-majors in related fields, and practitioners in the field of criminal justice who are not regularly enrolled.

This certificate is awarded to students who complete the required courses with an accumulated grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Andrew Jackson University coursework completed to meet the requirements of a previously-awarded certificate may be applied toward this certificate. No more than 50% of the certificate program can be earned through transfer credit or credit-by-examination. Credit awarded for experiential learning is not applicable to a certificate program.
